TDBAB Alumni Reunion
April 13, 2007

Plans well underway for this, our third TDBAB Alumni Reunion. Everyone who's sipped our Lemon Drop Martini or put their head on our pillow is invited! The Friday the 13th Lemon Drop Inn at beautiful Wedgwood House (Lantzville/Nanaimo, BC) is, of course, the centerpiece of this exciting event, but look what else we're planning!

The Rocky Mountaineer

Travelling onboard the Rocky Mountaineer is an unforgettable experience, considered by many to be, a trip of a lifetime. The two-day rail journey recaptures the romance of rail travel as it follows the historic train route constructed over 100 years ago through Canada's West and the Canadian Rockies, uniting the country. The entire train ride takes place during daylight hours to ensure you enjoy every minute of the breathtaking scenery of glacier-fed lakes, majestic mountains ranges and ferocious rivers.

We'll spend the second night in Kamloops in the middle of our journey. Dinner at our hotel is included, as is breakfast and lunch aboard the train each day.

We'll arrive in Vancouver on April 11 at the beautiful Fairmont Hotel. Dinner is on us this evening, and breakfast is on the hotel in the morning.

Spend Thursday, April 12, at leisure exploring the city of Vancouver, and take advantage of an extra night (optional) at the Fairmont. Or proceed to the ferry to Nanaimo that day and spend a day exploring a bit of Vancouver Island before the Main Event on Friday night.

The cost for this trip of a lifetime is $1399 CAD per person - plus 6% GST.

This includes -

  • a Lemon Drop Martini reception in Calgary,
  • three nights in superior hotels (well, Kamploops isn't quite so superior, but adequate),
  • transfers and luggage handling from Calgary airport to the hotel
  • and transfers between the train and hotels in each city,
  • GoldLeaf service level (the best!) on the train,
  • with two breakfasts and lunches aboard,
  • dinner in Kamloops
  • a second dinner in Vancouver (if we have a minimum of 20 guests),
  • and breakfast in Vancouver.

Three full days - less than $500 per person per day.

The regular 2007 price, without the extra airport transfer, the reception, nor either of the dinners, is $1609. With all these extras and a $210 savings per person – it's an outstanding value. Plus, it's with a carload of your new best friends!

We do need a minimum of 15 persons committed to this trip to make it happen at this rate. Please join us? Send us a note or call now and we'll take it from there!

Payment terms: $250 deposit per person to hold your space; balance due Feb 6, 2007. Non-refundable after February 6, 2007. We suggest you purchase trip cancellation insurance independently.

And then, AFTER the REUNION, the Party continues ....

The Lemon Drop Inn Open House

April 15
at Rog & Jim's new Condo in Victoria

Join us for an evening of nibbles and fun, and the legendary
TDBAB Lemon Drops

http://lemondropinn.com/

Visit beautiful Victoria, the capital of British Columbia.

To realize Victoria, you must take all that the eye admires most in Bournemouth, Torquay, the Isle of Wight, the Happy Valley at Hong Kong, the Doon, Sorrento and Camps Bay; add reminisces of the Thousand Islands, and arrange the whole round the Bay of Naples, with some Himalayas in the background. - Rudyard Kipling

Shopping, Galleries, Museums, Ocean views, Gardens, Fine Dining, Antique Row ... all just blocks from our door in our exciting city. Then come see the winter and summer home, and spring and fall retreat, of Rog and Jim.

The party gets underway around 6PM this evening, and continues till midnight.

The next day you'll want to explore more of this beautiful city. See http://vdbab.com/walks.htm for a host of suggestions.

No charge for the Party, of course!
